This wise saying can also be applied to education. Very good alternatives to the long-term grammar school programme are the pathway to the short-term grammar school programme or the completion of a professional apprenticeship. An apprenticeship can lead to a professional qualification.

The bilingual secondary school offers an ideal continuation from the bilingual primary school. In the secondary school, which lasts three years, we prepare young people on their journey to the short-term grammar school programme or to a vocational apprenticeship.

OUR APPROACH

Nurturing young minds

In the bilingual secondary school, English and German are taught equally. In contrast to the primary school, however, a language is assigned to a subject.

In doing so, care is taken to ensure that the students acquire a wide vocabulary in both languages over the entire period of their studies.

Curriculum

An enlightening curriculum

In general, knowledge of both languages is required when entering secondary school. However, we offer special programmes and supplementary courses in order for students to bring their German or English language skills to the necessary entrance level within a short time.

In addition, we offer exam preparation for DELF or CAMBRIDGE examinations. In accompaniment to the intensive preparation for the secondary schools or a professional apprenticeship, students benefit from a general education offering both breadth and depth. In doing so, we also attach great importance to the fact that learners are able to acquire in-depth, practical computer skills.

Enrichment Programme

Our Enrichment Programme was created to address the needs and interests of gifted and talented students ready for more intensive, challenging learning experiences. With guidance and support, students’ curiosity and natural inclination towards inquiry is fostered as they investigate and explore new subject matter or delve into areas of the curriculum in much greater depth. Students become more aware of their thinking strategies and learn to wield these as tools towards investigation, problem-solving and further inquiry be it in History, Geography or Art.

Enrichment classes take place on Tuesdays from 8.15-11.35am and are led by teachers with extensive experience in this field or by teachers specially trained to support gifted and talented students.

School schedule

Programme

Children may visit our Early Bird Club which opens at 7.30am. In Early Bird the children play, draw, colour or listen to music or stories with other children. The morning programme begins at 8.45am and ends at 11.45am. After mid-morning snacks, children enjoy playing outside on the playground.

Children and teachers eat lunch together in their own dining room. After a nap or a rest the children play outdoors before the afternoon programme continues at 1:15pm.

In the afternoon, children can be picked up at 3.15pm or they can stay in the After-School Club, where they will be cared for until 6.00pm.

Wraparound care

FOUR-FOREST schools offer a modern, family-friendly day school from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, providing supervision before lessons, during lunch, and after school with homework help and various activities.

Children play, eat, and work together, learning to share, play, and resolve conflicts.
Emphasising mutual respect, our educational team collaborates with parents to create a supportive learning environment.
