COOPERATION WITH LUCERNE REGATTA
28.03.2024A fantastic cooperation art project with the Luzern Regatta for our 5th and 6th grade students. We designed construction site fencing for this year’s Rowing World Cup. The students used their unique monotype artwork under the artistic direction of our art teacher, Beatrice. The Rowing World Cup takes place every year down at the Rotsee and draws a huge number of spectators. This year, as well as the rowing, you’ll be able to see FOUR-FOREST’s work lining the preparation areas- how amazing!
BROCHURES BY GRADE 5/6
21.03.2024Grade 5 and 6 have learnt lots whilst creating their beautiful brochures. They were required to research the information needed and then rewrite it in their own words. Using Canva, they were able to create these brilliant brochures- have a look next time you are in the Mensa and see if you can learn something new too!
CURRENT WOOD WORK PROJECTS
14.03.2024Working as a team is an important part of growing up and something we implement in many ways in FOUR-FOREST. The children had to use their sawing, glueing and building skills to make this very impressive bridge. The instructions given: it must be able to hold a students weight. We think they did a great job, don’t you?
FAIRY CAMPFIRE
20.02.2024Playing in nature sparks the most magical imaginations in our children. Here you can see a fairy campfire made by some of our youngest learners. They worked together to build the campfire for the forest fairies and then used sticks and leaves as the marshmallows, ‘toasting’ them before offering them to our mystical fairy friends. Such a wonderful moment to witness!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
22.12.2023Wishing our wonderful FOUR-FOREST families a relaxing Christmas and a very Happy New Year. We can’t wait to welcome you all back in January.
CHRISTMAS IN THE FOREST
20.12.2023This week, we shared a enchanting forest Christmas experience together. The entire FOUR-FOREST family gathered in our woods to enjoy a crackling bonfire, sip on hot soup and punch, and sing our favorite Christmas carols together. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend valuable time with each other and celebrate all that we love about this special holiday season. The festive atmosphere and shared moments created a magical evening that we will all cherish. May this beautiful tradition continue in the years to come, bringing us joy and camaraderie anew each time!
BENDING JIG PROJECT
14.12.2023Grade 4 children made a bending jig with nails on a wooden board. The steel strip was bent into the desired shape and soldered. They have created their own cookie molds - how brilliant! The cookie molds were then tested this week. 7.5 kilograms of homemade dough were processed and baked. The children did a wonderful job!
3D MODELS FRENCH CLASS
04.12.2023Can you remember being in school? Being given your homework for the week and thinking, where am I going to do this when I get home? This is the exact question that was asked to our Grade 6 children during their recent French lessons. Each child went home and designed a 3D model of their ideal homework setting before presenting their ideas to the class. The designs ranged from being in a bedroom, to a sunny holiday and even in space!
CURRENT DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS
15.11.2023During their weekly Design and Technology classes, Grade 5 and 6 have been learning about the strengths of various shapes and structures. Using straws, marshmallows, bamboo and string, the children had to work as a team to make the strongest and most stable structure. The children quickly learnt two things: triangles are strong and marshmallows are delicious! What a fun way to learn.
HALLOWEEN IN THE FOREST
31.10.2023Who is hiding in the forest? This week, our Kindergarten 1 children enjoyed hunting for Winnie the Witch’s lost items. They found her cat, broomstick, hat and friends stuck in the trees, lurking in the bushes and sneaking behind the leaves. After an exciting search, it was the perfect time to relax on the forest sofa with a story and a delicious treat. We hope you all had a wonderful and spooky Halloween!
OUR NEW LIBRARY
01.09.2023Our children and staff at FOUR-FOREST Lucerne love nothing more than getting lost inside their favourite books. This summer, a beautiful new library was built, and this week, our children have loved finding a cosy spot to open a book and share stories with their friends. The new library provides a calming space for everyone, even Albert has paid a visit and left some of his favourite books out for the children to explore!
P.S. DonĀ“t forget to write!
20.08.2023We begin the school year 2023-24 with a truly special theme: "P.S.: Don't Forget to Write!"
This theme serves as a poignant reminder of the significance of maintaining connections and exchanging thoughts with one another. In an era where digital communication frequently takes precedence, this motto extends an invitation to rekindle the lost art of writing.
At Four-Forest, we actively encourage our students to channel their creativity through the written word. This could encompass a wide array of forms, such as stories, poems, journal entries, and, fittingly, letters and postcards. This diverse range of expressions empowers our students to nurture their distinct talents and passions.
The motto "P.S. Don´t forget to write" will remain a constant presence throughout the academic year. Planned projects and activities are designed to motivate students to refine their writing acumen and venture beyond their creative boundaries. This might encompass writing competitions, collaborative storytelling endeavors, or even the establishment of their very own school newspaper.
We eagerly anticipate the arrival of letters from our students. Please don't hesitate to correspond with us at: Four-Forest Bilingual International School, Maihofstrasse 95A, 6006 Lucerne
6th GRADE CAMP IN VALAIS
01.07.2023An exciting and adventurous camp for our Grade 6 children! After walking along the Aletschgletscher, the children enjoyed relaxing together at the mountain lake and they brought many beautiful moments home. What a great way to end their time at FOUR-FOREST. We wish them all well as their learning journeys continue in their new schools!
VISIT TO TIERPARK ARTH GOLDAU
17.06.2023Kindergarten 1 had a lovely day exploring the Tierpark Goldau. Their highlights included feeding the goats and the deers, spotting the bears and wolves and enjoying a delicious ice cream to cool down! What a fun day!
SUMMER PARTY
02.06.2023Enjoying beautiful summer weather and wonderful scenery at the Rotsee in front of our LMS school, we hosted this year's summer party. Around 250 guests were here and the children were able to play on the Rotsee field in splendid joy. Refreshing drinks, a real wood-fired pizza (which was really popular!) were served. The parents generously organised a cake buffet. It was a wonderful afternoon that we will not forget!
SILVERY SNAILS
18.05.2023Have you ever watched a snail slowly move along the soil, leaving a silvery trail? That’s what our children have been up to this week. Some slimy residents moved into our school. The children enjoyed exploring how snails move, eat and curl into their shells, before designing their own beautiful snail artwork.
RUN YOUR AGE
18.04.2023At FOUR-FOREST, we frequently include our parents in activities and learning opportunities around the school. These include termly ‘Parent Participation’ days, as well as assisting with lessons, school excursions and forest trips. Last term, Grade 1 and 2 enjoyed including their parents in a daily ‘run your age’ sports lesson - where children, teachers and parents had a chilly morning run around the Rotsee. It was so much fun and got the morning off to a great start!
GARDENING
01.05.2023'To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow' - Audrey Hepburn. Alongside our current school theme, our new spring flowers planted outside the entrance to school make for a beautiful reminder that as the flowers grow, so do the minds and curiosity of our children.
EASTER
01.04.2023No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn’- Hal Borland. Spring has finally arrived in beautiful Switzerland and we are excited to see everything blossom and grow. The children have created some stunning artwork for Easter, which is displayed around school. Look at these adorable little chicks created by our youngest learners this week. What are you most looking forward to in this new season?
