Four Forest is a reputable private day school offering a high-quality bilingual education in the heart of Switzerland. Following the curricula of the cantons of Lucerne and Zug, and incorporating the British National Curriculum for the English language, teaching is delivered equally in German and English.

With campuses in Lucerne and Zug, Four Forest provides education from Pre-School (from age 3) and Kindergarten through Primary and Lower Secondary school.
Our school in Lucerne can be found in a beautiful location on the world-famous Rotsee in the city of Lucerne, whilst our campus in Zug is centrally located between Zug, Steinhausen, Cham and Hünenberg and offers wonderful views of the central Swiss Alps.
EXTRA CURRICULAR & CLUBS
Activities beyond the classroom
Children have the opportunity to visit our after school club where supervised play and various activities are offered every day from 3.15pm until 6.00pm. Supervision in the after school club is flexible and parents can enrol their child on a daily basis.
A wide range of extra-curricular activities are available within the framework of the after school club, including ball skills, Robotics, extra language classes and drama (activities may vary depending on the school campus). Children can further develop their artistic talent in the art and craft sessions. In addition, individual music lessons are offered (including piano) and from Grade 1, children may join our Homework Club after school on specified days.

What does it take to build a community?
This question guided the final six weeks of our 1st Kindergarten year. The children began by becoming architects of their own homes, drawing plans and thinking about shape, size and important details.
Using cardboard, bottle tops, corks, stones, sticks and paper, they brought their ideas to life as three-dimensional models, showing creativity, persistence and problem-solving along the way.
As their houses grew into a city, the children realised that a community needs more than homes. Together, they added a hospital, police station, train station, roads, shops, restaurants, a lake with ducks, a boat and places to play and meet.
Through collaboration and shared thinking, their city became much more than buildings and roads. It became a community – a place where people care for one another and feel that they belong. 💛

Meine Stadt, mein Quartier 🏘️
Was braucht es, um eine Gemeinschaft aufzubauen?
Diese Frage begleitete uns in den letzten sechs Wochen unseres 1. Kindergartenjahres. Die Kinder wurden zu Architektinnen und Architekten ihrer eigenen Häuser, zeichneten Pläne und dachten über Form, Grösse und wichtige Details nach.
Mit Karton, Flaschendeckeln, Korken, Steinen, Stöcken und Papier setzten sie ihre Ideen als dreidimensionale Modelle um und zeigten dabei Kreativität, Ausdauer und Problemlösungsfähigkeiten.
Als ihre Häuser zu einer Stadt wurden, merkten die Kinder, dass eine Gemeinschaft mehr braucht als Häuser. Gemeinsam ergänzten sie ein Spital, eine Polizeistation, einen Bahnhof, Strassen, Geschäfte, Restaurants, einen See mit Enten, ein Boot und Orte zum Spielen und Treffen.
Durch Zusammenarbeit und gemeinsames Denken wurde ihre Stadt viel mehr als Gebäude und Strassen. Sie wurde zu einer Gemeinschaft – einem Ort, an dem Menschen füreinander sorgen und sich zugehörig fühlen. 💛

#FourForestLuzernSpotlight Grade 4 Buddies Adventure 🌞
What a beautiful day out! Grade 4 were fantastic role models for our Kindergarten 2 buddies, showing them the way on a lovely little adventure together.
We hiked up to Meggenhorn Castle and stopped for a snack with stunning lake views. From there, we walked down to a farm, where our youngest explorers got close to goats, chickens, and other farmyard friends.
After some time at the park and a cosy picnic lunch together, we took the boat back, the perfect way to cool off on such a hot day. And of course, no adventure is complete without ice cream at Inseli Park! 🍦
Such a special day of friendship, teamwork, and exploring beautiful Luzern together. We are very proud of our Grade 4 buddies!

Grade 4 Buddy-Abenteuer 🌞
Was für ein schöner Ausflug! Grade 4 waren heute grossartige Vorbilder für unsere Kindergarten 2 Buddies und haben sie auf einem kleinen gemeinsamen Abenteuer begleitet.
Wir wanderten hinauf zum Schloss Meggenhorn und machten dort eine Znünipause mit wunderschönem Blick auf den See. Danach gingen wir weiter zu einem Bauernhof, wo unsere jüngsten Entdecker Ziegen, Hühner und andere Bauernhoftiere aus nächster Nähe erleben konnten.
Nach etwas Zeit auf dem Spielplatz und einem gemütlichen Picknick machten wir uns mit dem Schiff auf den Rückweg, die perfekte Abkühlung an einem so heissen Tag. Und natürlich gehört zu jedem Abenteuer auch ein Glace im Inseli Park! 🍦
Ein besonderer Tag voller Freundschaft, Teamwork und gemeinsamer Entdeckungen in unserem schönen Luzern. Wir sind sehr stolz auf unsere Grade 4 Buddies!

We had such an amazing day with Grade 3 at Basel Zoo!
Even though it was incredibly hot, it did not stop us from having a wonderful time exploring, discovering incredible animals, and making great memories together.
The sunshine, laughter, and adventure made it a day to remember.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Tag mit der 3. Klasse im Zoo Basel!
Obwohl es unglaublich heiss war, hielt uns das nicht davon ab, eine schöne Zeit zu verbringen, den Zoo zu erkunden, beeindruckende Tiere zu entdecken und gemeinsam tolle Erinnerungen zu schaffen.
Der Sonnenschein, das Lachen und das gemeinsame Abenteuer machten diesen Tag unvergesslich.

#FourForestZugSpotlight Grade 3 Visits the Dinosaur Museum 🦕
Recently, Grade 3 visited the Dinosaur Museum in Aathal, where they explored real dinosaur bones, including six that were discovered in the region.
The children also discovered fascinating fossil and plant exhibitions, as well as a collection of amber finds. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring learning to life and explore the world of dinosaurs, fossils and natural history.

Vor Kurzem besuchte die 3. Klasse das Dinosauriermuseum in Aathal. Dort entdeckten die Kinder echte Dinosaurierknochen, darunter sechs, die in der Region gefunden wurden.
Ausserdem erkundeten sie spannende Fossilien- und Pflanzenausstellungen sowie eine Sammlung von Bernsteinfunden. Es war eine wunderbare Gelegenheit, das Lernen lebendig werden zu lassen und mehr über Dinosaurier, Fossilien und Naturgeschichte zu erfahren.

Our Grade 5, Grade 6, LMS Primary and Secondary students recently took part in a sports competition during their camp in the beautiful setting of Melchtal.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to enjoy time outdoors, work together, cheer each other on and show resilience in a fun and active way.
Camp is always a special part of school life, helping students build confidence, strengthen friendships and create memories beyond the classroom.

Unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler der 5. Klasse, 6. Klasse, LMS Primary und Secondary nahmen kürzlich während ihres Lagers in der wunderschönen Umgebung von Melchtal an einem sportlichen Wettbewerb teil.
Es war eine schöne Gelegenheit für die Schülerinnen und Schüler, Zeit draussen zu verbringen, zusammenzuarbeiten, sich gegenseitig anzufeuern und auf spielerische und aktive Weise Durchhaltevermögen zu zeigen.
Das Lager ist immer ein besonderer Teil des Schullebens, bei dem die Kinder und Jugendlichen Selbstvertrauen aufbauen, Freundschaften stärken und Erinnerungen ausserhalb des Klassenzimmers sammeln können.

#FourForestZugSpotlight | Grade 4 explored ARA Schönau 💧
Grade 4 were lucky to visit ARA Schönau and learn how wastewater is cleaned before returning to the River Lorze.
During the tour, students discovered how microorganisms, air and chemicals all play an important role in the water filtration process. It was a valuable hands-on learning experience that helped them understand what happens to water after we use it.

Die 4. Klasse durfte die ARA Schönau besuchen und lernen, wie Abwasser gereinigt wird, bevor es zurück in die Lorze fliesst.
Während der Führung erfuhren die Kinder, wie Mikroorganismen, Luft und Chemikalien eine wichtige Rolle im Reinigungsprozess spielen. Es war eine wertvolle praktische Lernerfahrung, die ihnen zeigte, was mit Wasser passiert, nachdem wir es benutzt haben.

#FourForestZugSpotlight | Meeting the calves and cows 🐄
Grade 1 had a wonderful time visiting the farm near our school.
The children met the calves and cows up close, feeding them, stroking them and learning how to approach large animals with confidence. They also discovered that the youngest calves need extra calm and gentle care, helping them understand how trust is built through kindness and patience.
Afterwards, the class walked back to the Riedmatt playground to cool off in the water and enjoy some playtime together.
A lovely morning of nature, animals and hands-on learning.

Bei den Kälbern und Kühen 🐄
Die 1. Klasse verbrachte eine wunderbare Zeit auf dem Bauernhof in der Nähe unserer Schule.
Die Kinder konnten die Kälber und Kühe aus nächster Nähe erleben, sie füttern, streicheln und lernen, wie man grossen Tieren mit Vertrauen begegnet. Sie entdeckten auch, dass die jüngsten Kälber besonders viel Ruhe und sanfte Fürsorge brauchen. So lernten sie, wie Vertrauen durch Freundlichkeit und Geduld entsteht.
Danach lief die Klasse zurück zum Spielplatz Riedmatt, wo sich die Kinder im Wasser abkühlen und gemeinsam spielen konnten.
Ein schöner Vormittag mit Natur, Tieren und Lernen durch Erleben.

#FourForestLuzernSpotlight | Outdoor TTG Lessons ☀️
Recently, Grade 4 made the most of the lovely weather and enjoyed their TTG lesson outside in the shady part of our outdoor area.
The students worked on designing functional storage containers for different purposes, including key storage and hairclip storage. They created their own designs, used recycled plastic to build them, and covered them with papier mâché to decorate them.
A creative lesson with plenty of fresh air, problem-solving and hands-on learning.

Vor Kurzem nutzte die 4. Klasse das schöne Wetter und verbrachte ihre TTG-Lektion draussen im schattigen Bereich unseres Aussenbereichs.
Die Kinder arbeiteten daran, funktionale Aufbewahrungsbehälter für verschiedene Zwecke zu gestalten, zum Beispiel für Schlüssel oder Haarspangen. Sie entwarfen ihre eigenen Behälter, bauten sie aus recyceltem Plastik und verzierten sie anschliessend mit Pappmaché.
Eine kreative Lektion mit viel frischer Luft, Problemlösen und praktischem Lernen.
