Easter Holiday Programme at Four Forest Luzern Builds Connection
Four Forest Luzern welcomed children aged 3 to 9 to its Easter Holiday Programme, which ran from 13 to 17 April. The programme provided a well-supervised setting with a balance of structured activities and free play, creating an engaging and relaxed environment for all participants.
Children stepped outside their usual school routine, spent time together, and engaged in a range of activities throughout the day.
From the start of the week, children responded positively to the experience. Bringing together different age groups created a dynamic atmosphere, where students interacted more freely and built connections beyond the structure of the regular school day.
Throughout the week, children moved through a varied daily routine that combined structured activities with free play. Mornings often began with quiet settling-in activities such as reading, drawing, and puzzles, followed by indoor or outdoor play, creative sessions like jewellery-making and painting, and time in the forest or garden. Children also took part in shared moments such as snack times, lunch, and group activities, which created regular opportunities to interact with others across age groups. This rhythm of the day allowed children to engage in different ways, whether through creative work, outdoor exploration, or play, while naturally spending time together throughout the programme.
Activities at the Four Forest Luzern Easter Holiday Programme
Children engaged in a range of activities across the week, including gardening, painting, drawing, jewellery-making, sports, and exploring the forest.
One of the highlights of the week was the development of a new space in the school garden. Students took part in shaping this area, contributing to a shared project while engaging with their surroundings in a practical way.
The programme followed a spring theme and included Easter-related activities such as crafts, small creative projects, and an Easter egg hunt.
The daily structure allowed children to take part in activities while still benefiting from a consistent routine and a supportive setting.
A Safe and Supportive Environment at Four Forest Luzern
The programme provided a safe and consistent environment where children could explore, interact, and develop at their own pace. Through everyday experiences, they built confidence and formed social connections in a familiar setting.
Close supervision and a calm atmosphere supported both individual engagement and group interaction, helping children feel comfortable throughout the week.
The experience also offered valuable insight for the future development of holiday programmes at Four Forest Luzern. Based on this week, the team is exploring ways to expand future provision by introducing more specialised activities, including sports and language sessions led by instructors already working with the school’s extracurricular activities.
